What is your favorite Lower Merion/Narberth memory?
I am relatively new to Lower Merion, but I never cease to be amazed by all the history that surrounds us. Is everywhere, from the magnificent estates, the schools, to every single place we visit, whether is a restaurant, a social club, or a government building, each one has its own rich, interesting history. Recently we participated in the Bala Cynwyd Independence Day Parade which was a very memorable experience.
How long have you lived in Lower Merion/Narberth? In which community?
We moved from Florida three years ago, and we currently live in Villanova. It was a big change, but
we fell in love with this community from day one!
Why do you want to serve on the board of the Society?
One of the first places I connected with after moving to Lower Merion was the Historical Society.
I am fascinated with the history of the area and was doing some research, first online and then
in person during the open house hours. Eventually I started volunteering for a few hours, so I
have learned firsthand how valuable and precious are the collection and historical records the
Society harbors, and the importance of its mission.
This community is characterized by its longstanding values that are embedded in its history and upheld by its institutions, with LMHS being a prominent example, so it is a great honor for me to be part of the group of people responsible for ensuring its mission endures and is preserved for future generations to learn, appreciate and enjoy.
