Board Member Spotlight: Samar Khan
By LMHS Staff
Samar Khan is a 10-year resident of Lower Merion. She put down roots in Lower Merion because of the Township’s high-quality education, and a supportive and nurturing environment for her family. Her passion extends to various areas, including education, community involvement, cross-cultural communication, global fluency, equity, and initiatives for women’s enfranchisement. Samar holds an undergraduate degree in Financial Management from De La Salle University-Manila, and earned her Master’s in Business Administration from Thomas Jefferson University. She, along with her two daughters, enjoy exploring libraries, museums, reading books and traveling. Samar is focused on combining her professional experience and commitment to education to make a positive impact on her community.
What is your favorite Lower Merion/Narberth memory?
Spending time with my family in Suburban Square in Ardmore.
How long have you lived in Lower Merion/Narberth? In which community?
Almost 10 years combined in Gladwyne, Ardmore, and Merion Station. Each with its own beauty, history, and culture.
Why do you want to serve on the board of the Society?
I love the rich history of our community and I love Lower Merion and Narberth. I am inspired by the beauty of the people, the neighborhood, and the culture that defines Lower Merion. I believe it is essential to both preserve our history and ensure the history of all communities in Lower Merion are documented. Serving on the board would be a meaningful way for me to contribute to this ongoing effort.
