3rd Pa. Cavalry (60th Pa. Volunteers)
Organized in 1861 with men from Philadelphia, Allegheny, Cumberland and Schuylkill Counties, plus Washington D.C. Also known as Young's Kentucky Light Cavalry. Took part in 8 engagements including Manassas, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg and Petersburg. Lost 169 enlisted men and officers to wounds and disease during service. 26 of its men passed through Camp Discharge, including 9 Andersonville survivors.
