Recruited in 1861 in Northampton, Allegheny, Indiana, Westmoreland, Lebanon, Venango and Luzerne Counties. Service at Seven Days, Mechanicsville, Malvern Hill, Antietam, Sharpsburg, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, Five Forks. Lost 358 enlisted men and officers to disease and injury. 6 of its men transited Camp Discharge.
