2nd Pa. Cavalry (59th Pa. Regiment)
Recruited in 1861 in Philadelphia, Lancaster, Berks, Centre, Crawford, Northampton, Tioga and Armstrong Counties. Saw action in 16 engagements including Second Bull Run, Antietam, Gettysburg, Wilderness, Cold Harbor and Appomattox. Lost 253 enlisted men and officers to wounds and ailments during service. 33 died at Andersonville. Regiment took part in Grand Review in D.C. 36 of its men were at Camp Discharge, including 7 Andersonville survivors.
