Mustered in Sept. 25, 1861, in York at age 42, a laborer. Re-enlisted March 30, 1864, at Brandy Station, Va. Wounded in right forearm at Winchester, Va., Sept. 19, 1864. Forearm amputated the same day. Absent, in hospital at Sandy Hook, Md., at regimental muster out. Recorded at Camp Discharge Dec. 3, 1864, and admitted to camp hospital the next day to treat amputated arm. Discharged from camp Jan. 6, 1865.
