7th Pa. Cavalry (80th Pa. Volunteers)
Regiment organized in 1861 with men from Philadelphia, Chester and a dozen other Pa. counties. Saw action in 8 operations including Chickamauga and the Siege of Atlanta. Lost 292 enlisted men and officers to wounds or illness during service. Regiment mustered out in Nashville August 1865. 1 of its men, an Andersonville survivor, passed through Camp Discharge.
