36th Pa. Infantry (7th Pa. Reserves)
Regiment recruited in 1861 with men from Philadelphia, Cumberland, Perry, Lebanon, Clinton, Luzerne and Berks Counties. Attached to Army of the Potomac (I Corps). Involved in 13 combat engagements including at Mechanicsville, Malvern Hill, Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Wilderness, Spotsylvania and North Anna. Lost 218 enlisted men and officers to injuries or illness, 67 of them at Andersonville. Regiment discharged June 16, 1864. 81 of its men passed through Camp Discharge, including 71 Andersonville survivors.
