77th Pa. Infantry
Regiment recruited in 1861 in Franklin, Allegheny, Huntingdon, Mercer, Fulton, Blair, Luzerne, Franklin, Beaver, Dauphin and Lancaster Counties. Assigned to Army of the Ohio, then Army of the Cumberland. Engaged in 13 combat operations including Shiloh, Corinth, Chickamauga, Chattanooga, Kennesaw Mountain, Franklin. Lost 319 enlisted men and officers to wounds and sickness. 31 died at Andersonville. Regiment mustered out Dec. 6, 1865. 4 of its men transited Camp Discharge, 2 of them Andersonville survivors.
