Mustered in Feb. 3, 1862, in Phila. at age 21. Captured May 9, 1864, at Cloyd’s Mountain, Va. Imprisoned at Andersonville. Transferred to 54th Pa. Infantry June 8, 1864, by general order. Held captive until March 1, 1865. Recorded present at Camp Discharge March 23, 1865. Hospitalized there for catarrh April 14-21, 1865. Discharged from military May 4, 1865.
