33rd Pa. Infantry (4th Pa. Reserves)

Regiment raised in 1861 with men from Philadelphia, Montgomery (Co. C), Chester, Lycoming, Monroe and Susquehanna Counties. Joined Army of the Potomac (I Corps, V Corps). Involved in 9 combat engagements including Mechanicsville, Malvern Hill, Second Bull Run, Antietam, and Fredericksburg. Had 139 enlisted men and officers die from injuries or illness. 2 died at Andersonville. Regiment mustered out June 17, 1864. 5 of its men went through Camp Discharge, including 1 Andersonville survivor.
