100th Pa. Infantry
Organized in 1861 with men from Washington, Lawrence, Butler, Beaver, and Westmoreland Counties. Attached to Army of the Potomac (IX Corps) and Army of the Tennessee. 'The Roundheads' took part in 22 engagements including Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Vicksburg, Wilderness, Spotsylvania CH, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, the Crater. Lost 409 enlisted men and officers to wounds and illness. 11 died at Andersonville, 1 at Florence. Regiment was in Grand Review in D.C., then mustered out July 24, 1865. 3 of its soldiers transited Camp Discharge.
