54th Pa. Infantry
Regiment raised in 1861 in Indiana, Cambria, Somerset, Dauphin, Northampton, and Lehigh Counties. Involved in 6 combat engagements including New Market, Petersburg III, Appomattox. Lost 252 enlisted men and officers to injury and disease. 27 of its men died at Andersonville. Regiment mustered out at Harrisburg July 15, 1865. 4 of its men passed through Camp Discharge, including 2 Andersonville survivors.
