Mustered in July 23, 1861, in Phila. at age 19, a shoemaker. Captured Sept. 20, 1863, while on scout patrol near Warrenton Va. Says he survived Andersonville. Recorded at Camp Discharge Jan. 7, 1865. Hospitalized there for jaundice Jan. 8-Feb. 2; for catarrh Jan. 26-30. Mustered out Jan. 31, 1865, expiration of term.
