Was in 36th Pa. Infantry (7th Pa. Reserves), Co. I, Joined June 14, 1861, in West Chester, at age 23, a teacher. Captured May 5, 1864, at Wilderness and imprisoned at Andersonville. Went to Camp Discharge, was discharged from 36th Pa. Jan. 28, 1865.
