147th Pa. Infantry
Organized in the field in 1862 with Philadelphia, Berks, Lehigh, Carbon, Allegheny, Huntingdon, Luzerne, Carbon and Snyder County men. Took part in 16 engagements including Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Lookout Mountain, Missionary Ridge, Kennesaw Mountain, and Sherman's March to the Sea. Lost 142 enlisted men and officers to injury and sickness during service. 1 died at Andersonville. Regiment mustered out June 6 and July 15, 1865. 2 of its men passed though Camp Discharge.
