82nd Pa. Infantry
Regiment recruited in 1861 in Philadelphia and Allegheny Counties. Assigned to Army of the Potomac (IV Corps, VI Corps) and Army of the Shenandoah. Engaged in 27 combat operations including Seven Pines, Savage Station, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, and Petersburg. 178 enlisted men and officers died of wounds or sickness. 3 died at Andersonville. Regiment mustered out July 13, 1865. 7 of its men passed through Camp Discharge, including 1 Andersonville survivor.
