2nd Pa. Heavy Artillery (112th Pa. Regiment)

Recruited in 1862 from Philadelphia and Allegheny, Franklin and Monroe Counties. With over 5,000 men, it was the largest regiment in the Union Army. Saw action at Petersburg and Chaffin's Farm. 616 enlisted men and officers died of injuries or illness. Regiment mustered out at City Point. Va., in January 1866. 35 of its men were at Camp Discharge.
