Abstract: Drs. Percy Nicholson, Max Strumia and Chevalier Jackson pioneered special instuments and practices to help the sick. Dr. Albert C. Barnes created the antiseptic Argyrol. Bryn Mawr Hospital pioneered the use of blood transfusions in this area.
