Enrolled June 11, 1861, in Berks County at age 21, a machinist. Mustered in July 28, 1861 in Harrisburg. Deserted Oct. 30, 1862, at Berlin, Md. Entered Camp Discharge June 20, 1865, and hospitalized there the next day for "Deb. M. Dis." (debility from miasmatic disease). Mustered out by order of Maj. Love June 23, 1865.
