Mustered in Sept. 12, 1861, in Phila. at age 40. Taken prisoner Aug. 17, 1864, and held until March 13, 1865. Entered Camp Discharge April 22, 1865. Hospitalized there the next day for "Deb fr. M.D." (miasmatic disease). Discharged by general order May 2, 1865.
