Enrolled Oct. 16, 1861, in Lancaster at age 24. Mustered in Dec. 8, 1861, in Camp Negley, Ky. Captured at Chickamauga, Ga., Sept. 19, 1863. Held at Andersonville. Freed at Vicksburg, Miss., April 21, 1865, and discharged the next day. Recorded present at Camp Discharge June 6, 1865. Hospitalized there for constipation June 13, 1865.
