Mustered in as bugler Nov. 25, 1861, in Phila. at age 24. Captured June 24, 1864, at St. Mary’s Church, Va. Held at Andersonville. Released Nov. 26, 1864. Entered Camp Discharge Jan. 26, 1865. hospitalized there for constipation Feb. 9-14 and ecthyma Feb. 18-28, 1865. Discharged March 1.
