Mustered in April 9, 1862, in Phila. at age 24, a courier. Commissioned 2d lieutenant Jan. 26, 1863, but not mustered. Wounded at Chancellorsville May 3, 1863. Transferred to 110th Pa. Infantry June 22, 1864. Admitted to Camp Discharge Hospital to treat gunshot wound of left thigh April 12, 1865.
