30th Pa. Infantry (1st Pa. Reserves)

Regiment recruited in 1861 in Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, and Cumberland Counties. Attached to Army of the Potomac (I Corps, V Corps). Involved in 17 combat engagements including Seven Days, Mechanicsville, Savage Station, Malvern Hill, Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor. Lost 175 enlisted men and officers to injury and sickness Mustered out June 10, 1864. 12 of its men went through Camp Discharge; 7 were Andersonville survivors.
