196th Pa. Infantry

Recruited in July 1864 under the auspices of the Union League Association of Philadelphia, to serve for one hundred days. Known as the Fifth Union League Regiment. Guarded Confederate prisoners in Chicago, then served provost duty at Fort Delaware. Mustered out of service at Philadelphia Nov. 17, 1864.
