27th Pa. Infantry

Regiment recruited in 1861 only in Philadelphia. Attached to Army of the Potomac (II Corps, I Corps, XI Corps), then Army of the Cumberland. Involved in 11 combat engagements including First Bull Run, Second Bull Run, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Lookout Mountain, Missionary Ridge, Knoxville and Atlanta Campaigns. Lost 134 enlisted men and officers to injuries or illness. 10 died at Andersonville. Regiment mustered out June 1864. 4 of its men went through Camp Discharge, 3 of them Andersonville survivors.
