75th Pa. Infantry

Regiment organized in 1861 in Philadelphia from German-speaking recruits. Attached to the Army of the Potomac, then Army of the Cumberland. Saw action in 9 combat operations including Second Bull Run, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. 161 enlisted men and officers died of wounds or sickness. Regiment mustered out Sept. 1, 1865. 30 of its men passed through Camp Discharge, including 19 Andersonville survivors.
